Relief figure of a Nike, the personification of Victory, from the balustrade round the Temple of Athena Nike in Athens. The balustrade was added to the temple during a brief period of peace in 408 B.C.E. Here one of the goddesses of victory is seen gracefully bending down to fasten a loosened sandal as she walks.
